I'm Elijah Beaton, and I am a PhD student at Indiana University. My interests revolve around cultural history and the ways that spaces and objects are used to construct and express identity. Currently, I am fascinated by the built environment in cities in the 1980s and 1990s and how identity is inscribed upon everyday things ranging from buildings to art.
